Our unique model of housing development engages congregations, community agencies and professional property managers in significant partnerships.
The majority of our housing units serve very low income people, which is difficult to achieve. This focus calls us to take on challenging housing developments which target public resources for these very low income housing units.
- We empower congregations to envision, advocate for and invest in affordable housing developments to meet a variety of community needs.
- At many of our buildings, our service partners provide onsite staff offering supportive services targeted to the tenant population. Services may include educational and job search support, mental health and wellness counseling, parenting support or personal finance education.
- Finally, we hire professional property managers to maintain the quality of our housing and ensure that tenants' needs are met in a timely manner.
Partnering with congregations and with community agencies allows all of us to focus on what we do best, creating a highly effective model for housing development with ongoing property management and services that encourage tenants to maintain their housing and improve their economic and personal well-being.
